Van is a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2007 with a B.B.A. in Finance. In 2008 he obtained an M.B.A. degree from the University of South Dakota.

Van started his insurance carrier with Boen & Associates, Inc. in 2008, and became a partner in 2016. Van received his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2012.

He strives to help clients decrease the cost of risk to their organizations, and focuses on the construction, manufacturing, and trust company industries.
